What is Personification?

It's not the strangest concept out there.

Personification is nothing new!

Personification is a literary device that gives human characteristics to nonhuman things, such as animals, objects, or concepts. For example, you might describe a flower as being innocent, crayons as being frustrated or an alarm to be yelling. Personification can be used to make the reader empathize, understand better, or immerse themselves in vivid imagery.

What we do is give life to ships in the same way people have in history for generations.

There are plenty of other examples in media that personify ships.

Kantai Collection, Azur Lane, Arpeggio of Blue Steel... those are popular anime adaptations of this concept. Each project taking ships from the Second World War and applying human characteristics, but with their own approach.

Our approach takes this concept and applies our own perspective on things.

The Cold War period, from 1945 to 1991, is quite a bit of history, with technological and social changes moving at a breakneck pace. Thankfully, there was never a Third World War, but we still find it imperative to recognize the importance of this period through the lens of those who lived it - and how better than to remember the vessels of history that made it possible? From Korea to Cuba and back to the USSR, this Cold War is full of stories to tell.
