Separated into two major units:
1-444 Infantry Regiment
Infantry regiment consisting of companies A through D, all understrength. Soldiers from this unit were attached to the 1-445 during the invasion of Iraq in 1991, and did not return to the 1-444.
1-445 Armored Regiment
An armored regiment headquartered just north of Anchorage. This unit was attached to the 1st Armor Division during the invasion of Iraq in 1991, and received the Valorous Unit Award.
